2 Corinthians 11: Some Preach another Jesus

1. 2 Corinthians 11:2-4

1.1. For I am jealous for you with godly jealousy. For I have betrothed you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ

2 Corinthians 11:2-4
2
For I am jealous for you with godly jealousy. For I have betrothed you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.
3
But I fear, lest somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, so your minds may be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.
4
For if he who comes preaches another Jesus whom we have not preached, or if you receive a different spirit which you have not received, or a different gospel which you have not accepted; you may well put up with it!

  1. How was Paul jealous for us who believe in Jesus?
  2. Why was Paul jealous for us who believe in Jesus?
  3. How does he want to present you to Christ?
  4. According to Paul, who deceived Eve?
  5. What did Paul fear might happen to our minds?
  6. In what way was he saying that our minds could be corrupted?
  7. If someone has made up "another Jesus" by twisting the Scriptures, is it the same Jesus that Paul preached?
  8. Can people receive "spirits," other than the Holy Spirit?
  9. What "Gospel" might someone put up with?
  10. Are you willing to put up with someone teaching "another Jesus," or "a different spirit," or another gospel?

2. 2 Corinthians 11:13-15

2.1. For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. And no wonder For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light

2 Corinthians 11:13-15
13
For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ.
14
And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light.
15
Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works.

  1. What did Paul call these men?
  2. What do false apostles, and deceitful workers, transform themselves into?
  3. What does Satan transform himself into?
  4. Who else will his ministers also transform themselves into?
  5. What will be their end?
  6. Did you know that there are a multitude of false teachers today, who appear as angels of light?
  7. How much does this concern you that there are many false teachers today, who twist the Scriptures and create "another Jesus"?
